In the tradition of the meetings in Blaubeuren (2003 and 2005) and Leipzig (2007), the aim of this conference is to bring together physicists and mathematicians working in quantum field theory and general relativity, and to encourage scientific discussions on fundamental and conceptual issues. Selected talks will introduce different directions of research, in a way as non-technical and easily accessible as possible. The conference is also intended for young researchers on the graduate and post-graduate level.
